LAb[au] are a Belgium based digital design lab who are doing some pretty cool things with lighting and large-scale installations.
A golden skate rail and a walnut skate ramp are just a few of the things Andrew Lewicki has dreamt up over the years. The resounding theme of his work seems to highlight the specialness and also insignificance of everyday objects.
David Herbert builds some rough and ready sculptures of iconic buildings, objects and landscapes. Some appear cartoonish and others seem to have an incredible amount of detail such as The Crystal Palace (above).
25togo have got some cool bits and pieces over at their site. Standing out is this ‘My Document’ laptop case which looks exactly like a folder from your desktop.
Josh Keyes paints some brilliantly inane pictures of animals in strange situations. His works are satirical yet explore an underlying empathy towards animals and their natural habitats which are slowly being taken away by humans.
Can’t get enought of typography? Then this Typographical Scarf might be for you. I can’t imaging that it provides any real warmth as a scarf but you can’t argue with the aesthetics!
Chris Woebken is an interaction designer based in London. His portfolio has all sorts of wonderful experiments in this field but my favourite is his 2005 project ‘FlicFlex’ (which kinda reminds me of Flat Futures).
Even though it was built all the way back in 2006, Jonathan Yuen’s portfolio stands the test of time and is still just as beautiful and relevant today as it was two years ago. Perfect animation and a lovely sense of interactive playfulness will make this site a winner well into the future.
