Pantone Espresso Cups
Whilst checking out the London Design Museum’s online store the other day I came across these great Pantone Espresso Cups. They’d make a really good christmas present for the over-caffeinated designer!

MoreI love the strapline for the Sonic Chair, “Have you ever wanted to sit inside headphones?”. And that pretty much describes this wonderful piece of retro-styled design. The Sonic chair provides an ambient listening pod for the discerning audiophile. I’d love to see one in person as it reminds me of the awesome cocoon chairs of the 70′s.
MoreLalinea is a multi-functional piece of furniture designed by Merel Karhof. It is so dynamic that it can be formed into almost anything you can imagine, a bed, armchair, stool, sofa or couch. The secret is a series of ‘n’ shaped blocks that can be fitted together in any number of configurations. A bit like building your furniture from Lego!
MoreTiger Magazine is a simple yet abstractly beautiful screen magazine. Created by Takeshi Hamada way back in 2000, it’s currently running at issue 33 and features a wonderful mix of art, design and photography. (Note. If any of you know the artist who created the work featured above, please tell me so I can include a credit. T.)
MoreDesignfenzider sit clearly on the border of conceptual yet functional design. Their playful pieces are at once strikingly different from conventional items, yet are all designed to be perfectly functional. Shown above is the curiously named ‘Dear Ingo’, a chendelier made up of 16 seperate task lamps.
MoreJames McAdam’s projects are definitely high on concept. I love the ‘Good Morning Pillow’ (shown above) which leaves a message for your significant other imprinted on your face in the morning. Also shown above is the ‘Wake Up Alarm’, a very clever piece of biological tampering which works on the principle of drinking water before bed in order for your body to wake you up at a certain time!
