Hip.Young.Thing.

It’s recently been brought to my attention that there has been a problem with submissions email address, in that it hasn’t been forwarding your emails to the correct account (I was wondering why no-one was mailing me!). No emails were lost, however there is a rather significant back-log of mail to sort through. My apologies to those who have sent emails and not received a reply. Please keep on sending through submissions, there is some great work in the mail I have managed to check and I’m sure it’s just the tip of the iceberg. Peace. Toby.

Having finally made it back to the land of Oz, I’m up and running with a seemingly decent (albeit slightly slow) internet connection. Posting will resume shortly although might be a bit slower than last year whilst I get myself set up here in Australia.

Interestingly while I’ve been gone Hip.Young.Thing. has been nominated as a finalist in the 2008 Weblog Awards in the Best Hidden Gem category. It would be awesome if you could all get over there and vote for us!

So, it’s been a little while between posts recently, but I swear I’ve got a good excuse! I’m currently packing up all my worldy possessions in anticipation of moving from sunny London all the way to my original home town of Sydney, Australia.

Since moving across the world is taking up so much of my time at the moment, I’m going to take a break from Hip.Young.Thing. until January 2009. But don’t worry there are plenty of good things in store for the new year and ’09 is going to be bigger than ever. So in my absence, have a great Xmas and an excellent new year and I’ll see you in 2009. Thanks for supporting Hip.Young.Thing.

So it’s been a little slow around here recently, since I’m getting ready to go and trek around India for the next few weeks. Needless to say updates will be a little sporadic till I get back. Well, we were offline for pretty much all of last week… To cut a long to story short, basically our server was compromised, accounts were suspended and the shit hit the fan. We are now back up with a new host and everything should be returning to normal shortly. Thanks for your patience while we get this all sorted out.

I’d just like to take a chance to say thanks to you all for supporting Hip.Young.Thing. over the past year. I hope it’s been as enjoyable for you to read as it has been to write. We’re going to be taking a short break now until the new year (there may be a few posts, but probably not too many), but we’ll be back next year bigger and better than ever.

Hi guys,

As you can probably see, we’ve re-designed. It’s basically a natural progression from the old design (which I was never entirely happy with), but has some great new features which I should have included from the beginning. You can now use the search feature or browse through the archives and hopefully find some new things that you haven’t seen before.

Those of you who grab the feed only, please take the time to check out the new design and let me know what you think.
